Spooky Creepy-Crawly Wall Installation

20

Create the ultimate skin-crawling illusion of hundreds of realistic black spiders or bats swarming up your walls, spilling out of your fireplace, or escaping from a heating vent. This dynamic, three-dimensional installation is incredibly simple to make using black cardstock and double-sided tape, yet it has a massive visual impact that makes your room feel alive with movement.

Use a stencil to cut out dozens of spiders or bats in various sizes from heavy black cardstock. For the bats, fold the wings slightly upward on either side of the body to create a realistic, three-dimensional flying shape. For the spiders, gently crease the legs to make them stand off the wall. Use damage-free double-sided tape or mounting putty to adhere them to your wall in a sweeping, organic pattern. Start with a dense cluster near a corner, door frame, or fireplace, and scatter them out as they move across the wall to create a terrifyingly realistic swarming effect.
