Floating Witch Hats with Flickering LED Candles

Transform your front porch or living room ceiling into a mystical, gravity-defying scene straight out of a classic spellbook. This project uses lightweight, inexpensive nylon witch hats and thin monofilament fishing line to create the illusion of floating headwear. By suspending battery-operated LED taper candles inside each hat, you achieve a warm, flickering glow that dances in the evening breeze. It is a whimsical yet eerie addition that sets a magical tone for trick-or-treaters and party guests alike.
To assemble this display, feed a long piece of fishing line through the top point of each hat using a heavy-duty sewing needle, securing it with a sturdy knot or a small plastic bead on the inside. Attach the other end of the line to a small adhesive ceiling hook. Before hanging, suspend a lightweight, remote-controlled LED candle inside the crown of the hat. Using remote-controlled candles allows you to easily turn the entire display on and off with a single click, preserving battery life throughout the spooky season.
