Mystical Crystal Ball with Swirling Fog
Create a mesmerizing fortune-teller’s crystal ball that looks like it is constantly swirling with thick, magical fog. This high-impact DIY centerpiece uses a clear glass globe, a simple base, and poly-fill fiber or a hidden mist maker to simulate a swirling cloud of magic. It makes a fantastic interactive prop for a party table, a dark corner shelf, or an entryway display next to a deck of tarot cards.
To make this, find a clear glass light globe or a large round fishbowl. For a quick, dry version, gently pull apart white polyester fiberfill (toy stuffing) and place it loosely inside the globe along with a strand of purple or green LED fairy lights to create a glowing, smoky texture. For a more advanced, realistic version, place a small, water-filled container inside a decorative pedestal base, insert a mini ultrasonic mist maker, and place the open-bottom glass globe over it. The cool, dense mist will rise and swirl beautifully inside the glass, looking exactly like a real, working scrying ball.
