Chilling Shadow Silhouette Window Displays
Make your entire house look like it has been overtaken by spooky residents with dramatic, large-scale window silhouettes. By cutting bold shapes out of black poster board or cardboard and mounting them directly against your window panes, you create highly visible, theatrical displays for everyone passing by outside. When you turn on the lights inside the rooms, your windows light up to reveal giant spiders, creeping hands, or Victorian ghosts staring out into the night.
Measure your windows carefully and sketch your designs onto large sheets of black poster board or heavy kraft paper. Classic designs include giant, multi-jointed spider legs stretching across the frame, a witch stirring a bubbling cauldron, or a pack of howling wolves. Cut out the shapes and tape them securely to the inside of your window glass. To enhance the effect, drape cheap orange or purple tissue paper or plastic tablecloths behind the silhouettes before turning on your indoor lights, creating a vibrant, colorful backdrop that makes the black shapes pop dramatically.
