5. Mason Jar Mummy Lanterns
Create a warm, cozy glow in your home with these adorable and incredibly easy mummy lanterns. This craft utilizes the wrapping motion, which is fantastic for developing bilateral coordination in toddlers as they use both hands together. Using safe, battery-operated tea lights, these lanterns look beautiful lined up on a mantelpiece or window sill during chilly autumn evenings.
Wrap white masking tape or self-adhesive gauze bandages around a clean, empty plastic or glass jar. Toddlers can easily wrap the tape around and around the jar in overlapping layers, creating a textured, mummified look. Once the jar is wrapped, stick two large googly eyes near the top, peeking out from between the bandages. Drop a flame-less LED tea light inside to watch your friendly little mummy light up the night.
