4. Egg Carton Bat Hanging Mobiles
Upcycle your empty egg cartons into a flock of cute, dangling bats. This eco-friendly craft is excellent for teaching toddlers about recycling while helping them develop their hand-eye coordination. Painting the bumpy textures of egg cartons is highly satisfying for young children, and the flapping motion of the finished bats will bring endless joy when hung around the house.
Cut an empty cardboard egg carton into sections of three cups. Trim the bottom edges of the two outer cups to look like pointed bat wings, leaving the center cup intact as the bat’s body. Let your toddler paint the entire carton section with black or dark purple washable paint. Once dry, glue two wiggle eyes to the center cup and draw a little white fang smile. Thread a piece of yarn through the top of the center cup so your toddler can watch their new bat friend fly.
