2. Glowing Ghostly Milk Jug Walkway Lanterns
Upcycling everyday household items is not only budget-friendly but also incredibly satisfying. This classic DIY project turns clean, empty plastic milk jugs into friendly, glowing spirits that line your driveway or garden path. Start by thoroughly washing your jugs and removing any labels. Using a permanent black marker, draw unique, expressive ghost faces on the front of each jug—some happy, some spooky, and some surprised. Carefully cut a small opening in the back of each jug near the base, then insert a string of orange or white outdoor LED lights, or drop in a waterproof LED tea light. To prevent them from blowing away in the autumn wind, fill the bottom of each jug with a handful of sand or small pebbles before placing them along your walkway.
