18. Floating Dementor-Like Ghoul Figures
Bring a touch of dark fantasy to your yard with floating, tattered ghouls that resemble the terrifying Dementors from fantasy lore. Construct a simple, lightweight wire hanger frame for the shoulders and head, and attach a long loop of clear fishing line to the top. Dip large pieces of black cheesecloth, gauze, or tattered landscape fabric into a mixture of fabric stiffener or liquid starch. Drape the wet fabric over the wire frame, pulling and tearing the edges to create a shredded, wind-blown look. Once the fabric dries, it will hold its eerie, windswept shape. Hang these dark, faceless figures from tree branches, allowing them to twist and sway menacingly in the autumn wind.
