11. Paper Plate Witch Hats

11

Let your kids step into the role of a spooky witch or wizard with these wearable Paper Plate Witch Hats. This interactive craft combines the fun of painting and decorating with the excitement of dress-up play. Kids will love personalizing their own hats with spooky patterns, glitter, and ribbons, and then wearing them around the house for festive roleplay.

To make the hat, take a paper plate and cut a circle out of the center, leaving the outer rim intact to serve as the hat’s brim. Roll a large sheet of black construction paper into a cone shape that fits the inner diameter of the paper plate rim, trim the bottom so it stands straight, and tape or glue the cone to the rim. Let your child paint the entire hat black, or decorate it with purple and green patterns. Add a colorful paper band around the base of the cone, complete with a shiny gold paper buckle, and let them decorate the brim with Halloween stickers or drawing.
