9. The Floating Island Skylands Terrarium
The Floating Island Skylands Terrarium takes the concept of a closed dome and flips it, encasing an entire floating sky island within a giant spherical glass shell. The base of the island features exposed dirt, hanging roots, and dripping water falling through small gaps in the bottom of the dome into the void below. Inside, the island boasts a mini-ecosystem complete with a tiny cottage, a rolling grassy hill, a tiny apple orchard, and a babbling brook that runs over the edge of the landmass.
Building a true sphere in Minecraft requires precision, but the result is breathtaking. Using a mixture of Light Blue, White, and Tinted Glass creates realistic atmospheric reflections on the outer shell. Inside, players can populate the island with friendly farm animals like Bees, Rabbits, and Sheep. Dappled light filters through custom Oak and Birch trees, making this floating world feel like a self-sustaining miniature planet adrift in the open atmosphere.
