5. Lavender and Eucalyptus Sprays
Why it works: Both lavender and eucalyptus oils are natural insect repellents. When sprayed around your outdoor area, they create a fragrant barrier that flies dislike.
DIY Approach:
- Mix 10-15 drops of lavender and eucalyptus essential oils in a spray bottle filled with water.
- Optionally, add a teaspoon of witch hazel or vodka to help disperse the oils.
- Spray liberally around seating areas, doorways, and trash cans.
Extra tip: Reapply after rain or heavy dew.
